“If you would be wealthy, think of saving, as well as of getting.” Ben Franklin

Right in the first post, I reported that being financially independent consisted of having enough income to support the rest of your life without having to work or be dependent on other people.

It's not something you get overnight. It takes a lot of planning, discipline and sacrifices. Therefore, it is necessary to build a plan.

My starting point was to get a sense of how much I was spending per month and then assess how much money I would need to invest today, in an investment portfolio, to maintain a standard of living solely on the income generated by those investments.

In fact, the first step was not difficult, as I always kept a control over my expenses and earnings, which allowed me to know exactly how much I still had to invest.

But it took me a long time to know how and where to invest. Before, my focus was to monetize my portfolio, now I'm looking for passive income. I believe that through both strategies we can achieve financial freedom, but it will always be necessary to save and invest.

And basically this blog will talk about how I've been building my savings and my investments to achieve my financial freedom. With that in mind, I decided to structure the blog into three main pages: PERSONAL BUDGET, PORTFOLIO and PASSIVE INCOME.

PERSONAL BUDGET

Here I will show my cost of living here in Brazil with the evolution of my expenses, whose metric will serve as an indicator to see how much I will need to become financially independent.

PORTFOLIO

To receive passive income, I need the source. Here I will show you how I have been building my investment portfolio.

PASSIVE INCOME

Here I will show you how my passive income has evolved since the beginning of my investments.

ABOUT ME

I couldn't miss a part to talk about me, which I haven't created yet, but as I intend to talk a little about myself in each post, I'll make a compilation and then I'll also make this section.

Get to work!
